On Thursday afternoon, a press conference was held at the STASYS MUSEUM, where the media representatives from Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Estonia were presented with the museum and its activities. The mayor of Panevėžys City Rytis Račkauskas, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania Simonas Kairys, the artist Stasys Eidrigevičius, the architect Aurimas Syrusas, the museum Director Vaida Andrijauskaitė discussed the importance of the museum for the city. Art, architectural solutions, the museum's ambitions, the opening exhibition, art generations have been analysed with more than 30 media representatives,the museum Curator Lina Albrikienė and co-Curator of the opening exhibition Ignacy Eidrigevičius.
Today, Ambassadors from Ireland, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, India, Spain, Italy, Israel, the United Kingdom, Canada, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Latvia, Poland, the Netherlands, Romania, Georgia, Finland, Turkey, Hungary and the representative of the Holy See are visiting Panevėžys. In total, about 40 high-ranking officials have arrived in the city.
The City of Panevėžys has set the ambition to establish a professional, contemporary art space and this ambition is becoming a reality. Next Friday, on May 31st, the doors of the S. Eidrigevičius Arts Centre, a multifunctional space created by the world-renowned artist Stasys Eidrigevičius, will open.
Almost two hundred senior citizens will be able to participate in the international project HEALTHY AND ACTIVE AGING implemented by Panevėžys City Municipality. Together with the Lead Partner – ZEMGALE PLANNING REGION (LATVIA), the project partners- the Education Centre of the Rokiškis District Municipality, the Municipalities of Bauska and Jelgava cities (Latvia), the project aims to create favourable conditions for senior residents to exercise and implement physical activities in the city's public space.
Panevėžys Municipality is participating as a partner in an international project, "Energy Challenge: The Power of 'W' – Sustainable Energy for Developing European Towns" (hereafter, the Project), under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme of the European Union. This initiative aligns with the third priority of the program, which aims to bring citizens together to discuss local actions on climate and environmental issues. It focuses on energy-related challenges, solidarity, and sharing best practices to enhance citizens' participation in societal and democratic life within the European Union.
