The meeting brought together project partners from several European countries to exchange experiences and develop ideas related to sustainable, inclusive and climate-resilient urban spaces.
The programme focused on innovative approaches to urban planning, public space revitalisation and environmentally friendly city development. During meetings with representatives of the Municipality of Medijana and local urban development experts, participants discussed current urban challenges and explored practical examples of how municipalities can create more accessible, green and community-oriented environments.
A significant part of the programme was dedicated to practical workshops and collaborative urban design activities. International teams worked on redesigning public spaces by integrating climate-friendly solutions, nature-based infrastructure and sustainable planning principles into real urban scenarios. Participants also contributed to the development of the “Urban Dream Manifesto” – a shared vision outlining recommendations for future urban spaces that are sustainable, functional and responsive to community needs.
The meeting also included interactive activities analysing the accessibility and usability of public spaces from different social perspectives, as well as practical exercises focused on rapid urban prototyping and temporary placemaking solutions. These activities encouraged participants to rethink how public areas can become more attractive, adaptable and environmentally conscious.
The experience and good practices shared during the meeting will contribute to future project activities in Panevėžys, supporting sustainable urban development and the creation of high-quality public spaces for local communities.
The Project „Youth Re:Build: Together Designing an Inclusive Future“ is funded by the European Union under the “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” (CERV) programme.
