Mr. Žovtenko told that while working in Latvia,  he used to pass Panevėžys on the way to Vilnius and Ukraine but this is the first stop in our city.

"Lithuania is our strategic partner and suppoter in entering EU. Active cooperation on governmental level takes place. Our wish is to have a closer cooperation of business structures. Partnership of cities could be a great opportunity for cultural, sports and other exchange",- said the Ambassador of the Republic of Ukraine.

The Mayor of Panevėžys City presented Panevėžys, cultural, economical and sports achievements, possibilities to invest in Free Economic Zone of Panevėžys.

" We are glad that you visited our city. I hope that in the future we shall have closer contacts with your country. If we have a partner city in Ukraine, we can learn more about your country and have closer cultural, sports and economical contacts",- said the Mayor V. Satkevičius.

After the meeting in the municipality, the Ambassador visited the Puppet Wagon Theatre, Velžys Gymnasium, the company KAUKAS, the farmer Gintaras Dominas. In the evening V. Žovtenko plans to pay a visit to Sigitas Stankūnas Gallery.
