The cooperation of cultural institutions of both countries has been already lasting for several years. In 2007, V. Chigogidze made a performance "Hello, People" in Panevėžys in accordance to the novel of Georgian humanist Nodar Dumbadze "I, Grandmother, Iliko and Ilarion".

This time, on October 22, at 06.00 P.M. the guests present to the people of Panevėžys a new performance "Clever Madmen" at Music Theatre (again on the motives of the work of N. Dumbadze).

N. Dumbadze is a writer loved not only in Georgia but also abroad. The action of "Clever Madmen" takes place in the village of a Georgian Region and in the capital. The stories of people with mental disabilities appearing in various works of N. Dumbadze  are collected here. The characters of the performance perceive the world in a very sensitive and naive way. They claim for injustice directly and in a proper way. They are happy about the love accompanying them.

On October 24, the spectators of the XXth International Theatre Festival "Interrampa" (Rokiškis) will be able to see "Clever Madmen".

As V. Chigogidze explained during the meeting with the Mayor Vitalijus Satkevičius, Panevėžys Region becomes a centre of cooperation of Lithuania and Georgia. This friendship should be continued and strengthened, especially among theatres.

During the new EU support period, in the frames of Eastern Partnership Programme more projects are foreseen to be implemented (with Georgia, Ukraine). Cooperation in other fields like sports, economy may also be fostered.

"Panevėžys City Municipality has been already cooperating with Georgia for a long time. The representatives of business, culture  structures, politicians visit this friendly country. We welcome Georgian people with pleasure in our city. I hope that sooner or later Panevėžys will sign Cooperation Agreement with some Georgian city. I am sure that then the scale of cooperation will be wider",- was sure the Mayor V. Satkevičius.
