"Panevėžys was the first city in Lithuania to sign Cooperation Agreement with the County of Romania. For us, it is a great honour and responsibility. Thus, we want to organise a sufficient visit for your representatives to Romania. I wish to hear your requests and wishes which will be forwarded to local authorities in Romania",- said the Ambassador of Romania.

The Mayor of Panevėžys Rytis Račkauskas hopes that the visit to Romania will be useful and meaningful for both sides. "It will be my first visit to Romania. It would be a pleasure to get acquainted with your country, unique culture, business and other achievements. I think that the visit will serve for active cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and business",- said the Mayor R. Račkauskas.

The Deputy ayor of Panevėžys District Municipality A. Pocius plans to get acquainted with the development of agriculture, alternative business in rural areas, social and emigration problems, to share the experience in the fields of agriculture and tourism.

The President of Panevėžys Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts Sigitas Gailiūnas expressed the hope that the Letter of Cooperation Intent will be signed with Maramures Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In 2016, Maramures Days are planned to be organised in Panevėžys
