"The iniciative which has been recently announced and which has been started to be implemented was brought by the inhabitants of Panevėžys. At present it becomes a reality. I am very happy about it. Thank you very much for these Sakura Trees which will decorate our city. I also thank you for community based attitude and your contribution in making the city of Panevėžys more attractive",- said the Mayor R. Račkauskas.

"Why have we chosen Sakura Trees for donation to the city? Its beauty is short of breath. It is very much awaited and charming spring occasion, people of Panevėžys usually go to the capital city to enjoy it. Why should not we grow these wonderful trees in our city and every year they could bring joy to the hearts of people? We express our thanks to the Municipality of Panevėžys which has allocated the place in the city centre",- stated the Chairperson of F.I.B.A Board Daiva Masiliūnienė.

The aim of the campaign "Donation to the City" announced by the municipality is to encourage business companies and organisations, private persons to be the hosts of Panevėžys and to decorate it. The sponsors are proposed to bring their contribution by managing green areas, flower gardens, parks, squares, by planting flowers or flower compositions.
